A Time to Heal & Reconnect with Your Authentic Self

Unbounded Horizons’ healing retreats for trauma survivors take place at NatureBridge, on the shores of Lake Crescent, in Washington’s stunning and peaceful Olympic National Park. The retreats offer those who have experienced emotional trauma an opportunity to reconnect: with oneself, with one another, and with the cathartic healing power of nature.

The retreats’ facilitators are trauma-informed educators, advocates, therapists, coaches, and movement practitioners, as well as trauma survivors themselves. They are dedicated to helping you reflect on your experiences without judgement, gain awareness about your mental and physical responses to triggering events, learn new skills to advance toward the life you desire, and–perhaps most importantly–discover how a deepened spiritual connection with the natural world and its rhythms can be a catalyst to help you rediscover your own unbounded horizons.

Retreat Goals

Nature Connection

Deepen your connection with nature for insight, awareness, and stress relief.

Personal Development

Develop attitudes of self-empowerment, self-compassion, self-awareness, and self-advocacy.

Intentional Movement

Reconnect with yourself through meditative walks, hikes, breathing, and tension reduction exercises.

Resiliency Toolkit

Leave the retreat with new skills, practices, and resources to help you to maximize your emotional and physical stability.

Our Unique Approach

Trauma Education

The benefits of understanding trauma and its effects on your brain and physiology is a critical part of healing and post-traumatic growth. We'll help you learn to identify trauma-induced behavior and how to regulate a constant heightened state of nervous system activation.

Embodiment Work

We'll teach you how to use the body as a tool for healing through self-awareness, mindfulness, connection, self-regulation, finding balance and creating self-acceptance. This work will help you explore the relationship between your physical being and your energy and can take the shape of art therapy, meditation, sound bathing, forest bathing, yoga, breath work and gentle movement.

Nature Connection

Because trauma survivors become isolated and lose connections with themselves, community, and the outside world, we'll show you how to use the natural world to reestablish connection and kick start your post-traumatic growth. We'll guide you through curated nature-connection activities including: sit spot, wandering, active listening, and the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique.

Is this retreat right for you?

Acknowledging and addressing your trauma is a very personal experience, and your choice of treatment is equally personal. Our aim is to bring together a group of women for whom a deepened connection with nature can advance their own healing. This program may be a great fit for you if you are:

Participant Requirements

All I can say is wow!
Attending this retreat was the gift of a lifetime. I loved every second of it, even the uncomfortable parts. I've come away with so many tools, a full heart and so much peaceful motivation to continue doing "the work" of healing and living my purpose. The embodiment work was transformative, literally. I suffer from chronic pain and found myself 100% pain free by the last day, I definitely feel like I "shook off" some emotional damage after the embodiment sessions. I don't feel stagnant, stuck or bound up and I am beyond grateful for this newfound way of being in my body. The sound bath left me without words. One of the most beautiful experiences of my life. I wish I could express how profoundly moved I was and how deeply I loved I felt. I had an overwhelming sense of gratitude and peace for several days afterwards... Words are not enough to express my gratitude... I feel renewed and whole.
